Talk about Service Above Self! Youth Incentive Program (YIP) volunteer mentors like Sacramento Club member Diane Woodruff are matched with at-risk seventh graders for five years to help kids establish and meet academic, athletic, social and self-esteem goals. Kids gain life skills and life-long relationships along with a $10,000 scholarship upon graduation from high school – and every YIP mentee to date has graduated!
In 2018, four YIP graduates received a total of $11,250 – bringing overall YIP financial support since its inception to $175,428. YIP currently has 20 active mentees. Mentors say YIP is as rewarding for them as it is for the kids.
